Privacy policy

Your alerts stay on your phone

Last updated July 25, 2026. This policy describes how pingbox, a product of Director's Capital Office LTD, handles information when you use the Android app (com.pingbox.pingbox).

Summary

pingbox is built for local-only use. Notifications are captured and stored on your device. We do not operate user accounts, cloud sync, or analytics pipelines that upload your notification content.

Notification access

To organize alerts, pingbox requests Android Notification access (NotificationListenerService). That permission lets the app read notification metadata such as app name, title, body text, and timing so it can show them in your inbox, apply rules, and update the home-screen widget.

pingbox does not replace the system notification shade. You can revoke notification access at any time in Android settings; capture stops when access is off.

Data we store on your device

  • Notification content and metadata you choose to keep in the inbox or history
  • Tags, pins, snooze times, and rule definitions you create
  • App settings such as quiet hours, retention, and optional app lock (PIN / biometric)

Storage uses a local database on the device (Drift / SQLite). Content is not sent to pingbox servers because the product does not sync to the cloud.

What we do not collect

  • No account signup or login
  • No cloud backup or cross-device sync of notifications
  • No sale of personal data

Retention & deletion

You control inbox auto-archive and history retention in Settings (for example, a few days up to longer windows, or never). Clearing data in the app or uninstalling pingbox removes locally stored notifications and settings from the device according to Android’s normal uninstall behavior.

Permissions beyond notifications

Depending on features you enable, Android may also prompt for related permissions (for example biometric unlock for app lock, or battery / background guidance on some OEM devices so capture stays reliable). Those permissions are used only for the stated on-device features.

Children

pingbox is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
